A licensed Professional Engineer in California, Mr. Walker has a 28-year career dedicated to the development and delivery of bridge and transportation related structure projects, specializing in project management, planning and design of major transportation structure facilities in the Bay Area and throughout California encompassing urban and interstate highways and local bridge projects, including CMIA and Highway Bridge Program (HBP) funded projects.His engineering and planning expertise includes preparing bridge advance planning studies, bridge type selection reports, bridge seismic evaluations, bridge design or check calculations and preparation of full PS&E and construction support services for new bridges, bridge replacement and retrofit projects. Management skills include leading bridge and roadway design team efforts, client communication, coordination with agencies, Caltrans and subconsultants, and management of project schedule and budget.Tom has been a regular member and former chair of the ACEC/Caltrans DES Structures Liaison Committee, which is comprised of top consultant and Caltrans leaders who work together to improve design, process, and construction of bridge projects in the state.
