As structural engineer my main responsibility was the design and realisation of the top part of the chassis. In order to come to the best design I had to balance weight, looks, interfaces with other components such as the suspension and packaging while still being safe for the occupants and adhering to the regulations for road vehicles. During this period I learned a lot about working in CAD and PLM software, composites, doing structural simulations using FEM, working under tight deadlines and clear communication to make sure the best compromises could be found to get to the best results.In addition to this I also had the responsibility to prepare testing days and write test plans. Furthermore, as safety officer, I made sure everything happened safely during the challenge in Morocco.
