Personal Support AideDuties, Accomplishments and Related Skills:My duties were to assist Mentally Challenged persons with reaching goals of independence set by support coordinators and family members. I assisted them with reaching their goals in cooking, cleaning and laundry in hopes of helping them to become more independent in these areas. In doing so I learned and mastered the skills of redirecting a person that is upset and wants to cause physical harm to themselves or others.Supervisor: Debra Kirland (912-538-1328)

I work with Clients who are mentally challenged to assist them to become more independent in home and community. My duties include taking Clients on outings of client's choice and assisting them with care when needed in accordance with policy and procedures.

As a Contracted Nursing Assistant, I travel to facilities on an as needed basis. My job there included providing quality care to the residents in a Nursing Home setting according to policy and procedures. I provided grooming, hygiene. I also assisted with dressing residents when needed, as well as correctly transferring residents using proper techniques i.e. hoyer or stand up lifts, gait belts.

Provided clinical and administrative support to Veterans in an Extended Care Community Living Center. I provided personal care (feeding, shaving, oral hygiene, etc) according to policy and procedures. By using proper techniques and equipment I assisted Veterans with moves, lifts, and transfers. I also performed special treatments such as bladder catheter, application of dressings, colostomy and tracheotomy care. I also assisted with admission /discharge and post mortem care. I was also responsible for keeping an accurate record of Veterans vital signs ( temperature, pulse, height, and weight) and collecting specimens when ordered. I reported any signs indicative of change in Veterans condition.
