Getting from concept to full production presented a number of local challenges and I also wanted to add my own flair, such as the first and only seedbomb to contain nutrients and the first to feature a "flat" side so that they don't roll downhill and collect in valleys and streams. Very proud to be the inventor of the original kiwi seedbomb.BinTowa: The BinTowa was born out of necessity, having been living on a farm with a very long driveway when the council released "wheelie bins" for trash collection. The BinTowa is the result of countless hours in the workshop, bending and shaping the bends and curves of the BinTowa until it was just perfect. -

Establish a data governance council with key IT and business stakeholders to ensure data is correctly stored and managed. Implemented a metadata management system to encapsulate the findings of the data governance council, ensuring data integrity across the entire organization. Adapt the BI strategy and architecture to incorporate tools and technology that were licensed but not utilised, improving capability and providing a richer set of data presentation options to the consumer. Began a rigorous plan to provide a self service reporting environment to each of the 23 business groups in 8 months. Shifted the focus of the BI team from BAU reporting (now supported by self service) to project reporting, driving down outsource costs for project BI resources. Mentor and prepare the team for future technology; including mobile BI (Push BI, Cloud etc) and “big data” solutions such as Hadoop and mining social media data for customer analytics. The list includes Auckland Council, Auckland Transport, Office of the Valuer General, Ministry of Justice, Department of Internal Affairs, QV, SpeedScan, SDL and Datam. I completed the Revaluation 2011 project for the new supercity Auckland Council. Coordinated all data transfers between QV and the Office of Valuer General using WebSphere; developed new methods of data analysis using “best fit” nearest neighbor data mining models, and statistics such as coefficients of dispersal; created online thematic GIS maps using color gradients to visually show property value variations; and maintained the integrity of the data used to generate valuation notices to 550,000 customers.In late 2010 I was a senior consultant on several workstreams for the Auckland Transition Authority, the entity tasked with the formation of the Auckland “SuperCity”. I advised the workstreams with regard to processes and systems in the new organisational structures. This included evaluation of existing systems/databases and amalgamation where applicable or possible.
