I have learned through the years this job isn't just a boxed in job description of an admission counselor. I have developed many skills that reach beyond just getting a student to come to the college. The first is building a genuine relationship that gains their loyalty to my college and the services I myself can offer over other colleges and universities. I have secondly gained the skill of thinking outside the box as many prospective students aren't interested at first or have their mind set in something else. I am able to find ways to make things relevant to each individual. Adaptability is also a strength of mine as each year is a new group with different desires that I can't just give a sales pitch to but to adapt to this age group and what they are seeking. There are many more skills, but these few represent my entrepreneurial style show through, that whatever obstacle comes my way I can overcome and grow from those experiences.
