I have consistently served the accounting profession and greater community in number of capacities for the past 25 years. I started my accounting career as an Assistant State Auditor in the NC Office of the State Auditor. After being elected to the Durham City Council at the age of 24, I started in private practice in 1995. I obtained my CPA in 2000 and founded Ty Cox, CPA, PLLC. I then founded and practiced with Cox Gibbs & Thomas CPAs, PLLC before returning full-time to Ty Cox, CPA, PLLC. As a CPA, I specialize in working with entrepreneurial and small businesses and their entrepreneurs and owners. I love to help entrepreneurs grow and better manage their businesses to achieve stability and financial goals.I also have a passion for helping youth through the game of basketball. I founded Carolina All-Stars Girls Basketball Organization in 2004 which has helped over 200 players fulfill their dreams to become student-athletes on the college level. In addition, I have served as Girls Basketball Head Coach at Jordan High School in Durham, NC since 2010 and been apart of the coaching staff since 2006.
