Medicare was never truly personal to me until my mom retired. Three months afterwards, she was diagnosed with not one, not two, but THREE different cancers! The good news is she kicked all three. The bad news is, since she took the wrong Medicare plan the out of pocket costs were HUGE because her treatment hospital was out of network. I knew she should have taken another plan, but I didn't make my recommendation strong enough. In the past, if someone asked me "What's your recommendation?", I would say "That depends on how you view risk" or something like that.
