Maintain and repair farm equipment on this 600 acre Cantaloupe and Onion farm located the the Arkansas Valley.Prepare land for planting and irrigate crops via underground drip irrigation.Operate forklift to unload pallets and supplies for production shed, also load finished product into refrigerated trucks for shipment.Haul onions from the farm to Rocky Ford CO for grading and bagging using a Semi-Truck pulling two 28' hopper trailers.

Hook and Unhook 53' and 48' dry van trailers. Perform pre-trip and safety inspections. Operate tractor-trailer combination in 35 states over the 2 month (300 driving hour) period. This was a team driving assignment with a driver trainer.Comply with all DOT regulations, including hours of service. Kept both a manual and computer (Qualcom) logbook. Dealt with customers on a daily basis regarding timely pickup and delivery of various commodities.My second driver trainer was assigned to a dedicated account with a national office supply company based out of a distribution center in Hazelton, PA. This was a particularly demanding assignment with multiple stops in sometimes very tight and difficult to maneuver areas. I learned advanced backing techniques and to always GOAL (Get Out and Look) before backing into a dock.

Periodic meetings with the transportation director and the team of drivers would result in filling all the planned tripswith assigned drivers. Some longer trips would require a team of drivers in order to accomplish returning home after an event within safe driving guidelines.Most trips were within Kansas and returned within the same weekend, I also took trips in the following; I would usually accept 8 to 10 trips a year driving approximately 5,000 miles per year. I had no accidents and only one moving violation (speeding nine miles an hour over posted limit) in the eleven years I drove for GCCC.Equipment driven: 18 passenger vans, 26 passenger mini-bus, and 44 and 55 passenger motor coaches.
