I previously attended Birmingham Southern College where I earned my Bachelor of Science in Mathematics degree while also playing football for four years. While earning my degree in mathematics I also completed the pre-engineering track as well. I learned many valuable lessons through Birmingham Southern such as leadership skills and creative problem-solving. At Birmingham Southern, I learned how to work with many people from different backgrounds while also being in many leadership roles. Aspiring to be an engineer since I was a kid, I am now at UAB earning a bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering. I originally attended UAB for Civil Engineering but became interested in Materials Engineering after observing many different projects in the field. This led me to wonder at the fact that everything is made from something. Now my primary goal is to gain as much knowledge as possible while also being open to how each field of engineering is connected. I hope to not only prepare myself for a career in the field of materials engineering but to also gain a better understanding of how the world works from an engineering standpoint. I am currently working for the MPAD located on UAB's campus where I'm researching various topics and taking on projects that provide knowledge. My goal is to one day finish school and work for a company that can advance my knowledge of Materials Engineering.
