I graduated from Brigham Young University in June 2021 with a Major in History and a Minor in Business. Interested in continuing my study in a related field of historical research or otherwise working at a museum or archive.I've taken a basic course in English Paleography which involved transcribing documents from as far back as the 17th century, and took up a mentored research project with that professor to transcribe and analyze Quaker Meeting Minutes from the Virgin Isles during the 18th century. Specialty in court and secretary hand scripts.During my college career, I took a class focusing on digital preservation. In that class I worked on a project using arcGIS to display information from the online Chicago Criminals Database to map out the locations and dates of various crimes committed by women in early 20th century Chicago. Interestingly, we discovered that the majority of crimes that were listed for women during that time were murders directly related to illegal abortions. Other interests I have include reading, board games, Call of Cthulhu (which draws a lot from history and presents it for others to experience in a fun way), and painting board game miniature figurines.I've worked in research labs as a summer job for the USDA, so I have worked in a federal research lab facility. In this position, my efforts over the course of three summers allowed the scientist I worked with to more easily focus on processing data while I took charge of determining a regular schedule for data collection.
