I am entrusted to provide oversight for 42 parks and 15 landscape sites totaling over 1000 acres and 10+ miles of trail throughout the city, ensuring collaboration with four supervisors. I actively coordinate with division managers within the Community Services Department to administer city-wide functions along with grand openings and events. I lead community outreach efforts and collaborate with designers in the infrastructure development on 15 Parks (4 opened, 7 in planning stages, 3 in design and 1 in construction). I communicate with other departments to ensure cost-effective budget implementation and utilization for projects /equipment. Moreover, I plan, devise, and execute action plans while considering environmental variables including water restrictions and reduced chemical usage.Key Contributions: • Championed numerous capital improvement projects in conjunction with multiple departments city-wide. • Collaborated with Mountain View Whisman School District in classroom improvement projects, ensuring playable fields for youth sports organizations. Coordinated with MVWSD on campus security for shared spaces.• Partnered with Valley Water on the opening of McKelvey Ballfield and Schaefer Park designed to act as a ballfield and flood detention basin in the event of a flood emergency.• Implemented pour-in-place project installation, replacement, and repairs at several city park locations including Thaddeus, San Veron, Devonshire, and Varsity.• Directed the upgrade of 140 parks parks irrigation clocks to 4G coverage. Completed the irrigation audit and collaborated with staff in the development of systematic plan to drive improvements based on outcomes. • Developed an innovative plan to re-route staffing resources from roadways to parks and establish Central Parks group. Sourced and secured funding through the budgeting process. • Generated opportunities for park supervisors and field staff to review and comment on parks projects during review phase.

Within this role, I launched and managed various improvement projects in conjunction with multiple departments within the city, ensuring proper budget implementation and project completion within allocated deadlines. I oversaw the construction and irrigation crew to operate parks irrigation systems and maintain the city’s playground infrastructure. I responded proactively to citizen inquiries in a timely manner by phone, email or, when necessary, meeting in the field. Besides this, I planned and formulated all action plans while adapting to environmental variables including water restrictions and reduced chemical usage.Key Contributions: • Spearheaded capital improvement projects to enhance and maintain the city’s assets including: • Participated in community meetings and teamed up with designers in development of 3 new public parks opened in 2019 (Wyandotte, Mora Ortega, and Evandale). • Upgraded the South Parks irrigation controllers to iCentral irrigation capability, subsequently providing remote access to all of the irrigation controllers.• Coordinated with local volunteer groups to enhance the Stevens Creek Trail with a planting project with 100+ volunteers.

As Director of Agronomy, I undertook strategic responsibility for $3M+ valued maintenance building construction and golf course renovation projects at Mira Vista. I managed budgets in a cost-effective manner as well as engaged actively with executive management and stakeholders to determine key requirements. I led the onboarding and negotiation of contracts for golf course restoration demolition, disposal, and shaping contractors. I supervised an in-house irrigation crew for entire re-design and build of a new irrigation system focused on water conservation. Moreover, I acquired various materials for the project independent of contractors to save overall cost on sand, seed, fertilizer and concrete. Key Contributions:  Maintenance Building Construction• Successfully constructed maintenance building in conjunction with electrical, carpentry, concrete, plumbing, and HVAC contractors to ensure proper installation while emphasizing cost savings. • Secured all city and state code permits and maintained compliance, during and after construction was completed. Golf Course Renovation• Opened 19 new USGA spec greens for full member play seven months after the first green’s seeding. • Tailored robust strategies to meet the Mira Vista Board of Directors and membership expectations during the renovation of club’s 1920 designed greens and original course design by Robert Hunter. • Successfully ensured the smooth conversion of originally-designed Robert Hunter greens into USGA drainage and turf health specifications with little no loss in their original historic design. • Grew two acres of bent grass seed greens, installed eight and a half miles of irrigation pipe, eighty-nine thousand square feet of concrete golf car paths, two miles of drainage pipe, and seven hundred fifteen new irrigation/water saving heads.• Achieved recognition as Club & Resort Magazine Renovation of the Year Finalist.
