Provided design, expertise, analysis, and writing services in support of an assessment of coastal resilience efforts on the Washington State coast. • Team leader for assessments of democracy, human rights, and governance in Georgia (the country), Kenya, South Sudan, and Tanzania. Led teams composed of four to six people, including at least one PhD subject matter expert, local political expert, U.S. Government analyst, and logistician in carrying out research, analyzing data, and drafting classified reports for the U.S. Agency for International Development to provide analysis and recommendations for policies, strategy, and programming to support democracy, human rights, and good governance. • Supported design of new programs to support communities in Sierra Leone and Guinea to recover from the Ebola crisis and increase their resilience to future crises. Mentored local staff in strategy development and program design.• Drafted two chapters of the Washington State Chapter of the American Planning Association's "Sustainable Infrastructure: A Toolkit for Planners." Also led creation of an illustrative video, "More Resilient Stormwater Systems: Green Stormwater Infrastructure." See links below.
