Lead Qa/Qc Advisor Qgc

Chinchilla, Queensland, Australia

I started with RIE (regional instrumentation & electrical) as an electrician based on QGC well site projects. Within 3 weeks of being on-site, the operation manager (Pat hickey) noticed I had an extremely high level of attention to detail. With my previous experience in hazardous areas and hazardous areas dossier preparation, I was then promoted to QA/QC advisor. As RIE contacts grew across QGC sites. I gained experience within all sections of QGC sites. Working on processing plants, field compressor stations, and well sites. The RIE workforce grew substantially. As the RIE team grew rapidly so did my responsibility. Which meant I was then promoted to lead QA/QC advisor. Below are some of my daily tasks  Leading QA/QC inspection team. Building relationships with clients (QGC). Final handover of projects to the client.  Document control management. Oversea dossier preparation.  Lead commissioning Team. Review and enforce Australian standards.  Support inspection and commission team.  Develop project timeline and handover schedule. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working with RIE. I grew my skill and capabilities beyond my expectation. Within my personal and professional life, I enjoy building long-lasting relationships. This is the reason why I decided to give Automation sales ago. I left RIE on very good terms and went to pursue a sales career with Omron electronics.

Qa Officer/ Lead Electrician

Brisbane/Lake Vermont Coal Mine

Lave Vermont Coal Mine I worked for southern cross electrical engineering on the lake Vermont coal mine project. The project was to build and commission the new CHPP, ROM, and connecting conveyor systems to the coal stockpiles and the train loading system. My time at the Lake Vermont coal mine was enjoyable learning about the mining industry and was my first project learning about hazardous areas. After 6 months of working within the construction electrical install team, I was moved into the quality assurance and commissioning team. My direct supervisors noticed my high level of attention to detail. Once the southern cross-project was completed after 12 months SCEE relocated me to another project which was the GDH separator metering and separating coal seam gas projectSantos GHD projectThe GHD project was contracting to Santos’s for manufacturing metering skids and wellhead separator skids. The SCEE portion of the project was for E&I installation and commissioning. Once the metering and coal seam gas separator skids were constructed. They would be sent to the site for installation and commissioning. My position was the lead electrician for this project. This was my first positioning managing and leading a team.  Manage electrical and commissioning team. Installation of instrumentation. Wiring RTU panels and installation. Barrier glad and hazardous area equipment installation. Site installation of metering skids and compressor skids.  Preparation of hazardous areas dossier.Although my employment time at SCEE was short, this was my stepping stone for greater achievements at RIE. My reason for moving for SCEE to RIE was due to SCEE’s sudden shortage of contracts.

Electrician

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

Kentz engineering was my first role hired as a fully licensed electrician. I was hired to work on the Brisbane tunnel airport link project. I was one of the first electricians hired and one of the last to leave the project. I initially felt a little out of my comfort zone as I did not know the infrastructure construction industry, but I was very eager to learn. Below if have listed some of the projects completed whilst on the Brisbane tunnel.  VSO (ventilation station outlet). Smoke duct installation and commissioning. Cross passages. Tunnel substations. Toombul site, Kedron site, and Bowen hills site. Once this project had been complete it was now time to move into the mining industry. Coming from a family of coal miners, I knew this would be the next step in my career as an electrician.

Electrical Apprentice

Brisbane, Queensland, Australia

I started a school-based apprenticeship in grade 11 at high school. This meant the I was able to get a jump start on my electrical apprenticeship. As it was very clear in my mind, I wanted to become an electrician. My first role at LAI switchboards, or at the time was called PM switchboards. Wiring and manufacturing switchboards was a great foundation for the start of my career in the electrical industry. I gained experience in all fields of the switchboard manufacturing industry. I have listed some of the experience gained within the switchboard manufacturing industry. Motor control center MCC switchboard manufacture. Bus-bar bending skills.  Distribution panels. Control panels. Power distribution panels. Site installation of switchboards.  Fault finding. Learning complex wiring diagrams.  Commissioning and testing. HV substations.  HV cabling and wiring. Installation of MCC in the various coal mines. At the age of 20, I was now a fully licensed electrical fitter mechanic. as everyone will tell you, you don’t start learning until you become a tradesman in a new role. So I packed up my bags to went to work for Kentz engineering on the Brisbane tunnel.
