I manage Cardiff County Council’s operational stores and depot for Highways with a budget of £4,800,000 per year. In my role as Service Delivery Manager I also manage the CTS and Highways buildings with a budget of £2,000,000. Since beginning the role I have had to make some hard decisions with regards to rationalising stock. Previously the facility was always used as a holding site for different service areas throughout Cardiff Council, but space constraints had meant changes were necessary and I have redesigned the way the space is used to accommodate stock for the shortest possible time. Last year I project-managed the on-time delivery of the most advanced local authority vehicle workshop within the UK costing £6,300,000. My latest project is to revisit savings within security for Cardiff Council’s facilities management team. I have been tasked to save £465,000 in the coming year without detriment to staff or service.
