Fundamentally, a Clubhouse is a specialized rehabilitation community center that presents individuals with a mental illness with the optimism and faith they can accomplish their potential and recovery. These individuals also have a history of counting Poly-substance dependency, Co- occurring disorders, Dual diagnosis (MI/ID), along with variety of population risk backgrounds like Criminal Offenses, Veterans and Homelessness. What makes the clubhouse different is that it's ran by these same individuals called members upon being accepted in. It's rehabilitative concepts and theories are practical through encouraging social, financial, educational and vocational goals by self volunteership through a work ordered day. The volunteership is a communal and individual support remedy to recovery as it builds autonomy, confidence and self efficacy influencing a life domino effect. As a clubhouse generalist, I was able to provide support through a collective of rehabilitation services which allowed me to have several job titles and responsibilities. My role as a case manager in the Clubhouse setting varied from the classic case management duties because it included Program Coordination and Community Development along with some other detailed duties such as Job placement management and Culinary Unit Leader/CoLeader. In a short time, I've become comprehensive, stable and grounded in awareness considering the daily challenges of the environment and the multitasking of the job.Please do not be afraid to contact me with any inquires.
