Inspired Black Educator whom graduated from Umass Boston December 2022. If given the opportunity to teach in a community where the students are most Black or Latinx, my teaching philosophy will be to include inclusivity and social justice in the classroom. I believe as an educator of representation, I have the responsibly to display and give respect before I receive it. I aspire to build student and teacher relationships while creating a safe space for youth to feel confident and help break the cycle of academic incompetence. Serving in the Urban communities, educators must understand the unique approach, such as restorative justice. Educators must not have bias on students whom are black and brown as each students must be with treated equally and basic right of humanity. I believe in also ingraining a healthy growing mindset in students, which means that socioeconomic status should not be a direct correlation to academic performances. It will be my responsibility to provide the tools and resources to set students up for success. I personally want to work in this schools with a 90% demographic of Black or Latinx because I understand that It will be difficult. With challenges in the classroom, I hope to grow and that will help me prepare with the best approaches which again is inclusiveness, patience and confidence in my skills. I believe I have powerful leadership skills, and I am careful with my words to ensure positivity and inclusion.
