I am a special education teacher who graduated from the University of Scranton Cum Laude with a B.S in Early and Primary Education. I am currently pursuing a Master's in Childhood Special Education full-time at Hunter College. I will be graduating with my Master's in December 2024. On top of being a graduate student, I have accepted a job offer from the New York City Department of Education for the 2024-2025 school year as a special education teacher in a 12:1 classroom. With over ten years of experience with children in New York and Pennsylvania, I have become very confident and qualified to take on the challenges that teaching has to offer. Through various student observations, I have been exposed to K-4th grade classrooms. My student teacher experiences afforded me the opportunity to assume all the responsibilities of an elementary teacher at a first-grade level. I have also worked successfully with students with various disabilities. My successes in the classroom have stemmed from essential skills, including classroom management and student engagement. I see myself as a collaborative team player who is always searching for opportunities to impart valuable insights. With these qualities, I am able to facilitate positive change and impact outcomes. I am also in pursuit of new creative endeavors; I find that identifying innovative approaches and improved solutions to challenges both motivate and drive me.
