I was tasked with opening a new office for a small commercial general contractor in a new city.● This company had never done work in Fort Worth, so I had to compile, contact, and vet all new subcontractors and vendors for the company. This ranged from setting up accounts with rental companies to meeting with MEP subcontractors.● Within 6 months of signing our lease, our team bid and was awarded the office’s first project in value of over $2.5M● With this first project, I negotiated and executed subcontracts and their associated scopes of work.

I was a project manager of a roughly $6.5M student housing project in East Texas. I was involved with writing scopes of work, reviewing and approving subcontractor changes order, creating owner change orders, scheduling, contract review, attending OAC meetings, estimating, and project cost tracking.

I was a superintendent for a dorm renovation project in East Texas. I was responsible for daily productivity, coordinating work with multiple subcontractors, and ensuring the timeliness of construction.

I was a part of a team performing disaster recovery work after the “100- year flood” in Baton Rouge.● In this program, an initial inspection was performed to assess damage, and then a final inspection was performed to ensure the work was completed as needed. I oversaw the initial and final inspectors for each house assigned to the company in the program. I was in charge of roughly 10 inspectors on rotation that covered 30-50 inspections a day.● If I did not have enough inspectors to fill our daily assignment, I would run the inspections myself as needed.● At times an inspection wouldn’t go well or there would be minor work not completed. I had to either convince the state inspector that this really wasn’t an issue, or I had to source a field technician on the fly to show up and fix what was wrong to get the inspection passed.

Immediately after college, I spent a year as a youth pastor at a small church in North Carolina. I helped over 30 youth navigate the difficulties of being a teenager in a world with plenty of bad influences.● Preached a sermon officially once a week, and organized other events to keep the kids engaged● Served monthly at a soup kitchen passing out food to the local homeless and engaging in conversation● The first week there were 7 kids in attendance
