Seeking an opportunity to apply my education and military experience in an engineering-focused environment with high standards, commitment to excellence, and a passion for making the world better with better, more efficient engineering.I am a graduate of Oregon State University in the Construction Engineering Management program. I chose this career path because I have always been drawn to construction, and have always thrived as part of a team. I am currently working as a project engineer with Pence Construction. This is my first experience on the management side of construction. My experience has given me opportunity to apply my first class education to real world expectation. My job requirements include, handling requests for information, submittals, construction document alterations and ensuring communication between subcontractors and the project owners are always smooth and efficient. Pence Construction, has provided valuable experience and skills to my foundation. During my military career I was in charged of as many as 30 marines at a time, ensuring our mission always stayed on track. I was the sole electrical engineer during my two years with the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU). My duties included designing and setting up command center power grids and ensuring the electrical equipment always operated as intended. During my time with the 13th MEU I was awarded three Certificates of Commendation for my excellence operating as the only electrical engineer, I was awarded the Navy and marine Corps Achievement Medal after my 2011 deployment for my exceptional performance throughout my time with our command. Other honorary Medals earned include The Global War on Terrorism Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Expeditionary Service Medal.
