Brigade Support Battalion - Deputy Support Operations Officer
I served as the Deputy Support Operations officer (SPO), the executive senior logistics planner in the Brigade Support Battalion. As the Deputy SPO, I directly and indirectly managed a team of 32 Officers and Non-Commissioned Officers with providing and planning logistical, sustainment and healthcare services support for all classes of supply to the 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team made up of approximately 4,500 Soldiers and approximately 1,500 pieces of equipment. I monitored the brigades requests for supplies and coordinated the transportation support required to distribute to combat units in the field. As the Deputy SPO, I also coordinated with and provided oversight of the brigades supply activity warehouse, which is responsible for receiving, storing, and shipping supply items. Another responsibility, was to maintain the readiness of the brigades fleet of vehicles, weapons systems, communication systems, and all other systems the brigade used to conduct its mission. Other additional duties included Operational Contract Support requirements, ammunition management, and mortuary affairs support. I developed and analyzed reports daily and briefed the Brigade and Division Commanders weekly on the status of their combat power and sustainment capabilities.

Served as the Support Operations Transportation Officer in the 4th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat team, andwas responsible for supervising a team of three Non-Commissioned officers in coordinating and synchronizing all transportation requests for support in the brigade. This included submitting and planning convoy clearances with multiple state Department of Transportation agencies, route analysis, transportation planning, logistical package (LOGPAC) convoy planning, and coordinating through the Deputy Support Operations Officer to higher echelons above brigade for bulk supply transfers and resupply operations. As the Transportation Officer I also worked with the rest of the Support Operations team on all other logistics planning requirements to help mitigate and reduce risk on the battlefield.Accomplishments include successfully planning and synchronizing over 104 Logistical Support Requests (LSR) supporting units within the brigade with transporting personnel, repair parts, medical supplies, fuel, water, food, and ammunition in support of multiple operations, training missions, and deployments.

Served as the Support Operations Ammunition Officer for the 4th Brigade Support Battalion, and was responsible for supervising a team of three senior NonCommissioned officers and a Chief Warrant Officer in coordinating and synchronizing all ammunition requests/requirements for the brigade. Ensured the brigade was supplied with the necessary ammunition to conduct its mission as well as manage and ensure it is transported and stored following the proper standard operating procedures and Federal regulations. Responsible for maintaining a strong working relationship with its higher echelon and the Ammunition Supply Point by managing the brigades ammunition account using the Total Ammunition Management Information System (TAMIS) to keep track of all open ammunition documents. As the Ammunition officer, I was responsible for supplying the brigades ammunition to the warfighter via air, land, and sea assets. Continuously worked with the rest of the Support Operations team on all other logistics planning requirements to help mitigate and reduce risk on the battlefield.Accomplishments include successfully increasing our ammunition readiness by reducing the amount of delinquent documents from 76% to 0% in two short months making us the standard in the division. Planned, managed, and executed mission operations for a unit of 1,387 Soldiers to provide Echelon Above Brigade and General Support of supply, transportation, field services, maintenance, cargo handling, petroleum distribution, water purification, and ammunition support for Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) and tenant units. Prepared all operations orders, warning orders, and fragmentary orders for the CSSB. Duties also included planning and coordinating all large scale missions, exercises, and deployments. Determined training needs of the CSSB and prepared and supervised training to support those needs. Responsible for the safety, mission accomplishment, training, health, morale and welfare of all Soldiers and Non-commisioned Officers in the S3 Section of 13TH CSSB. Additional duties included Battalion Current Operations Officer Duties, Battalion Unit Movement Officer, and Battalion Airload Planner. The Operations officer ensured planning and execution of all logistics and sustainment occurred successfully for the Battalion and Division. Accomplishments as the 13TH CSSB Plans Officer, include the successful planning, tracking, sourcing and publishing of over 650 operations orders, which enabled the battalion to operate smoothly and without any missed deadlines. Successful planning and execution of ten major exercises, such as five joint Army/Air Force missions called Rainier War, a Joint Logistics Over the Shore-Sea Emergency Deployment Readiness Exercise (JLOTS SEDRE), a Joint Readiness Training Center mission (JRTC 19-01), a deployment to the National Training Center (NTC 19-10), a deployment validation exercise with the First Special Forces Group at the Yakima Training Center (1SFG Valex), and the deployment of the 24TH Composite Supply Company to the Middle East.
