Buyer of indirect materials and services at Tenneco Automotive's Monroe Location. I was responsible for communication from main suppliers to our 33 manufacturing facilities ensuring that we received the best prices and cost saving opportunities at each of our plants. Main categories were Safety, Industrial Supplies, Abrasives, Uniforms, and Forklifts & other Industrial Equipment. I worked to ensure the MRO buyers and Controllers at each plant knew where to find the best prices for these indirect materials and services that they needed to operate.

A summer internship working at the Jefferson North Assembly Plant allowed me to gain valuable knowledge on the operational side of supply chain. I was the project lead in implementing a scan to delivery system for over 400 parts in small lot inventory, ensuring correct and timely delivery from from inventory to the assembly line, incurring soft savings of over $25,000 for 2015.

As a purchasing intern for the summer, working at Xylem Inc. allowed me to experience the manufacturing business from the office perspective. Being involved in multiple meetings with suppliers and customers, I was able to learn how to interact and conduct myself in the appropriate manner when dealing with such clients, all while gaining a better view of how a business'​ supply chain works between companies. Of the many projects I worked on during the summer, the most notable were a 50K spend mitigation, that involved me reviewing past and future business purchases, making comparisons that allowed me to single out which future expenditures could be altered or canceled to avoid overpaying or wasting money. Along with this I was in charge of a complete 5S of the branch's strategy room, using skills to create a more simple and organized layout while still being able to view the close details of each aspect/project in the room.

When new employees needed training they would shadow me for days at a time until the new worker got the hang of the job and eventually run the machine by themself. In this position was responsible for machining 36-40 rear axels from raw cast iron molds to finished product per day, uising calipers and micrometers to make sure all the measurements were met to customer requirements.
