At SensorLogic, I performed a variety of tasks that revolve around hardware, software, and firmware development. I routinely designed and coded algorithms to perform functions such as filter audio signals, reconstructed 3D images of a surface from radar data or simply created an interface to easily communicate with a sensor. I then integrated these components with other team members' code. I also had the opportunity to design and layout several new sensors and devices ranging from a complex Arria 10 based FPGA audio processing system to an innovative snow depth sensor. I also performed other tasks such as helping manage a continuous integration tool (Jenkins), assisted in repository management, and troubleshooted new software features.

I worked for two years as the principal investigator on and FPGA-based speech and hearing grant (5R44DC015443). During this time I determined and assigned tasks to a team of engineers, worked closely with the CFO of the company to manage a monthly budget, and presented the work at an Acoustical Society of America conference. I also worked on several low-level tasks such as writing Linux kernel modules, VHDL components, and assisted in hardware design review.

I worked for over a year as and embedded FPGA engineer developing VHDL components that could communicate with an audio codec and perform various signal processing actions. I also developed several loadable kernel modules to communicate with these components in the FPGA fabric from Linux kernel space. Additionally, I assisted in other coding projects that involved processing raw radar data, helped test and verify algorithms, and reviewed code.

I developed causality detection algorithms that can be used to find relationships across multiple sets of data. Specifically, the algorithms are going to be used to find causal relationships between audio and spatial data gathered from marmosets.
