For more than 3 years I’ve been working at KCAU 9 News in Sioux City, IA in various departments.When I first started I was in production, running cameras and audio for the stations morning show. I did that for a little over a year till I graduated for Western Iowa Tech Community College with an associates degree in Multi-Media Journalism.Since graduating I’ve been a reporter with KCAU and have a done a variety of stories from a duck breaking through a helicopter windshield while flying in mid air to more serious topics like the recent flooding that came through the Northwest portion of Iowa, destroying many communities.Over the course of more than 2 years as a reporter I’ve set up countless interviews, shot my own footage, and edited my stories on Adobe Premiere Pro daily. My biggest strengths are editing and talking with people. Like I’ve mentioned, I’ve edited countless stories and while I have a good understanding of Premiere Pro, I continue to learn more about the software even if I don’t use it in tv. As for my ability to talk with people, 7/10 I’m able to convince a random person on the street to talk with me about a story that I’m doing. Varies from story to story.This is simply a small portion of what I’m capable of as I have a continued taste for knowledge, especially in technology, and can pick up a job with relative ease.
