Currently attending BCIT taking the Technology Support Professional program. Recently got Network+ comptia certificate. I know my way around Word, Excel and PowerPoint. I attended the University of Calgary for several years, taking 3-4 courses a semester majoring in computer science. I mostly worked with Java and C, with some C++ and python. I did not graduate, I was not enjoying the UofC education approach as I am MUCH more of a "hands on" kind of guy. BCIT's approach is FAR more enjoyable for me.During my years at the UofC (and several years after) I was employed by Joey's restaurants. Here, I started as an appetizer cook and worked my way through every position on nights (excluding night sous chef) and proceeded to make my way through the day time positions until I landed on purchaser. Where I was responsible for purchasing the vast majority of food and items for the restaurant while following a budget. I did this for a while and eventually came to the conclusion that I did not want to work in the food industry anymore. I figured I should change to a career where I have some relevant skills and still enjoy, the technology industry.
