I am a Michigan State University graduate with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics with an Actuarial Science specialization. I have passed Exam P/1, Exam FM/2, Exam MFE, Exam LC, Exam ST, Exam C, Exam 5 and I have knowledge in probability, statistics, actuarial models, and mathematical investments. I have worked on Hackert Family Farms during the summer months since I was fourteen, and have learned how to become a responsible, hard working employee. Working on a farm has helped me develop an unparalleled work ethic, and this dedication to working hard has paid off in the classroom as I graduated with a 3.74 overall GPA. I also completed a summer internship with Gentex Corporation, gathering data and analyzing the results using Excel and Minitab. Currently, I work at Meemic Insurance Company as an Actuarial Analyst. Within Meemic's Pricing Department, I apply actuarial concepts to our auto and home rate revisions in order to maintain profitability. I create and update quarterly rate indications, which involves determining on-level factors, creating loss triangles to then apply various loss development techniques to select loss development factors, select premium/loss trends, etc. I prepare and deliver supporting exhibits for rate filings. I write SAS code programs to rerate our exposure base for rate revisions, perform univariate analyses, create and update variable indications, and perform specific analyses upon request of upper management. I also update and deliver monthly reports that get distributed throughout the company. These monthly reports include frequency/severity reports and retention reports. I am proficient in Excel, Access, and SAS.
