Designed and developed the work instructions currently in use at American Seating. I also train area supervisors and operators on the manufacturing processes laid out in the work instructions. Generated $239,000 in cost saves, eliminated wasted motion in work cells, increased operator awareness of quality concerns, improved material flow, and reduced material waste/scrap in both assembly and fabrication departments.

Designed and coordinated the implementation of a new assembly department layout which reduced floor space by 68% while improving product flow resulting in a 4% gain in labor efficiency. New layout implementation was coordinated with production to be done without shutting down production. Developed a strong knowledge of diagnosing and repairing special equipment issues (mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, PLC, various sensors) and optimizing performance for a wide variety of assembly processes including sonic welding, laser etching, laser welding, laser cutting, heat staking, vibration welding, pad printing, heat transfer, hot stamp, pneumatic presses. Established production rediness in 5 days for the U251 assembly (business transferred from another supplier). I assessed, upgraded and qualified the equipment, authored operator instructions and trained operators. I contributed $257,000 in cost saves, reduced the number of safety incidents from 2007 to 2008, and implemented a leaner manufacturing environment throughout my departments.
