My passion has and will always be people––Bringing them together, sharing stories, and connecting with one another is what I value most in life. It keeps me and the people closest to me happy. As a senior at Boston University, I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree, majoring in Broadcast Journalism and minoring in Film and TV. My ultimate goal is to create a multimedia conglomerate centered around a talk show with a live audience dedicated to sharing the stories of underrepresented student-athletes.As a student-athlete myself, I recognize the need for a platform to share the unique journeys of student-athletes with the world. This inspired me to create “Live with TY,” a show available on YouTube, where I research and interview these individuals, deepening my passion for giving athletes a voice on a larger stage. In my senior year, I am thrilled that “Live with TY” will become an official BU production, offering more students the opportunity to gain experience in a TV studio. While the show primarily focuses on athletes, I am open to featuring anyone with an inspiring story. My aim is to use this platform to launch my career as a TV personality in prime-time television. My work thus far has only fueled my passion for sports and media production. Live with "TY": www.youtube.com/@tylerr.johnsonAt Boston University, I have embraced various leadership roles and experiences. As the former President of SAOC for two years, I developed my leadership skills and worked to make BU athletics inclusive. Currently, as the SAAC President, I continue to unite the athletic community. In my roles as the current Patriot League President and NCAA D1 SAAC Patriot League Representative, I lead initiatives across all 10 Patriot League schools to enhance student-athlete experiences. Serving as the head representative for the Patriot League has also allowed me to be part of the National SAAC D1 e-board, influencing decisions for college sports nationwide.I am the Producer and Host of “Live with TY,” and I also host the BU TV Popshowdown Gameshow, showcasing my on-air talents within the College of Communications. As a Posse Foundation Scholar, I received a full-tuition scholarship for founding a Black Student Union in Burlingame. Additionally, as a Team Impact Member, I support Pierce, a visually impaired child paired with the BU Men’s Soccer Team.My academic and athletic achievements have earned me a place in the Patriot League Honor Roll Society, demonstrating my commitment to excellence both on and off the field.

InternToy Soldier Films Jul 2024 - Aug 2024London Area, United KingdomAs an intern, my role consisted of editing, critiquing, and producing videos for TSF’s clients. As it would go, clients provided TSF with film and raw footage: my role was to turn the provided footage into videos that companies or individuals can use as they see fit. This component of my job required me to become proficient in the editing software Davinci Resolve. This software allows you to take raw footage captured on a camera and turn it into professional-grade video. Critiquing video was another component that defined my internship experience: making sure that the client’s final vision for the video fell within the scope of the services TSF offers. Often when working with clients and corporations who have little to no experience in media production, they can be unrealistic in what they want done. It was my responsibility to make sure that TSF could meet the clients expectations. I read the emails sent by the clients to understand what they were looking to have accomplished and compared their instructions with the footage and materials they provided. I would then consult my supervisors George and Will and proceed accordingly. After conferring with Geroge and Will, I would then produce the video to be sent to the client. -
