As the lead Bioinformatics Programmer, I have been successful in setting up an appropriate analyzation pathway and made improvements to the lab by establishing a bioinformatics server. Within the past two years, I have primarily worked with languages such as Python and R to analyze single cell data (performing things such as cluster, cluster labeling, GO analysis, SCENIC analysis, and comparisons between datasets). My Master’s Degree has also provided me with exposure to different data analysis processes such as machine learning, microarray analysis, and working within different web analysis sources. Before this position, I was employed as a Chemist for a metal refinement company called ExoTech. I applied my knowledge in a wet lab environment, where I oversaw upkeeping different parity datasets and safety documents to keep the lab within its Osha certification. This practical and hands-on experience proved to help me grow in team-settings and hone in on applying database management and statistical skills. I feel competent and secure in my current position working alongside my colleagues to provide appropriate single cell analysis for data, collected both within the lab and data taken from published papers datasets that were posted on known databases (such as NCBI). These combined experiences have granted me the ability to further develop my interpersonal skills and demand detailed orientation in my work to promote the best environment and results.
