I spent the summer as a supply chain intern at Essex Brownell. The work I performed was mostly concerned with inventory analytics. I performed a summer long cost analysis for a new regional sourcing strategy that consisted of data pulling and altering certain suppliers to regional sourcing to best fit this strategy. The new sourcing strategy ended up saving $400,000. I used excel functions daily to diagnose missed shipments from the previous day. I managed some suppliers and placed purchase orders. I performed financial calculations to determine the profitability and financial feasibility of buying a supplier's business. I used access, QAD (ERP system), Cyber Query, and excel for various different queries and inventory analysis to make our buyers' jobs easier. I helped automate our missed shipments template and improved its functionality in Excel. I performed data cleansing in an ERP to accurately show the proper unit of measurement in the ERP that the warehouse uses. I pulled data and performed analysis on DO's and suggested new minimum and multiple quantities. And I developed an overall understanding of an inventory analyst position by performing miscellaneous tasks and projects.I then continued working with Data Cleansing for Essex Brownell part-time and remote through my senior school year.

My summer job at Orchard Ridge Country Club restaurant/pool helps organize and carry out events, serves food and drinks, provides service to customers, and manages and transports supplies across different kitchens and event locations. Normal days consist of serving food and drinks, cleaning, and helping pool customers, but multiple events are held during the week such as fireworks, swim/dive meets, birthday parties, Kids at the Ridge (daycare), and pool movie nights. •Designed colorful advertisements and drawings with art supplies to display specials, events or new options at the restaurant to customers; resulted in increased orders for new products, more customers asking questions raising awareness for specials and events, and smiling customers complimenting creative drawings. •Adapted to different protocol for special events (particularly swim/dive meets and parties) and communicated effective instructions to customers while displaying competence for completing event tasks and planning event layouts; resulted in well-managed events at the pool and improved customer service and planning skills. •Managed and trained other employees and also managed the allocation of ingredients and food supplies to different locations based on analytics and trends. Resulted in better management and analytical skills as well as adequate supplies for separate kitchens and smoother food distribution.

Helped coordinate and play for an intermural basketball team at Indiana University. Many teams were in the league and games were scheduled through IM League and were played at the Bill Garret Fieldhouse.•Took initiative and coordinated team recruiting by using communication skills to reach out to people from hometown as well as people at IU's SRSC. Resulted in gathering a group of 7 people who would join the team and play throughout a successful season. •Displayed leadership to the team through coordination of founding the team, coordinating optional practice times with the team, strategy and play-calling, and motivating team members. Resulted in improved team performance, improved team chemistry and coordination, and better team morale. •Displayed determination by practicing and playing hard. Played basketball every night and would hustle and display great effort in our games. Resulted in a more enjoyable season as this encouraged others to try harder and allowed our effort to result in more wins.
