The Chief of Staff will serve an important function at Champion Education Network. The COS will provide a communication framework for stakeholders, employees and executives. The COS is depended on by the CEO to be a thought partner, think strategically, and contribute to the growth of the organization. The COS is expected to facilitate the CEO’s vision while enabling other members of the leadership team to work together and get decisions at the top made faster. The COS’s work is explained below and divided into four areas: Strategic Partner to the CEO, Project Management, Strategic Planning and Relationship Building.

The Director of Learning is an innovative and collaborative leader who supports the organization and schools' continues efforts in student intervention, learning and program improvement. The Director, in collaboration with other EQ leaders, will identify key areas for student growth, build organizational and site level capacity for ongoing program analysis and decision making, contribute innovative practices to improve EQ's strategy, program implementation, and coordinate a system wide strategic plan designed to improve other academic programs and practices. The Director will manage all organizational and school data as it related to compliance with federal grants, school improvement, student growth initiatives, cross-curriculuar and grade level projects and identify grand that improve outcomes and drive strategic decision-making.

The PLLAT supports the development and improvement of learning and teaching at University YES Academy. The PLATT is a member of the UYA Leadership Team and serves on the School Development and Improvement (SDIP) Committee, in addition to participation in other required teams and committees. The PLLAT works directly with teachers to support a culture of openness and ambition as well as works with grade and content chairs in identifying common issues for development and improvement, and planning for next steps. The PLLAT further facilitates the UYA learning and teaching professional learning community meetings in order to implement the Common Direction Process. Additionally the PLLAT uses coaching methods, to develop reflective practice in others and encourage the use of new learning and teaching strategies. As an instructional leader, the PLLAT team teaches/demonstrate techniques/develop master classes and create model classrooms. The PLLAT conducts supportive observations and assist in the creation of action plan to support teachers in the achievement of professional goals and student academic growth measures. The PLLAT works alongside teachers to support the implementation of agreed intervention and teaching programs into teaching practice and measure the impact of such work. And above all monitors student progress to support ongoing review of how well the school is progressing. The PLLAT attends external events, to identify areas of best practice and develop and share resources through all available communication processes and by attending team meetings. This information is used to plan and lead sessions on teaching, learning and assessment on Staff Development days, identified team training and specific topics and provide workshops for parents to develop a deep understanding of the UYA learning and teaching processes.

Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) is a support process for developing skilled teachers and administrators to positively influence student outcomes. PAR provides assistance to two categories of Baltimore County Public Schools teachers: new teachers and those who have been identified as ineffective or underperforming. Consulting Teachers are teachers in their field that have consistently demonstrated the ability to deliver high quality instruction. The primary function of a consulting teacher is to provide the consistent support necessary to develop skilled teachers that positively influence student outcomes. Consulting teachers will observe classroom performance, provide feedback to teachers assigned to their caseload, and will build the teachers knowledge base and repertoire of teaching skills. The Consulting Teacher, working under the direction of the Personnel Officer and the Peer Assistance and Review Panel, will collaborate with the principal and other local school staff to provide maximum assistance to assigned teachers.

-Curricula Taught: American Government, US History, Economics and Public Issues, F.A.L.S., A.L.S. -Planned for and executed lessons for class sizes ranging from four to twenty-five students daily -Levels that were taught include self contained, general education, honors, inclusion and co-taught-Managed case loads of fifteen to twenty-five students per year; including annual and triennial testing, educational assessment writing, IEP development, FBA/BIP development, manifestation teaming, and MOD eligibility
