The PLLAT supports the development and improvement of learning and teaching at University YES Academy. The PLATT is a member of the UYA Leadership Team and serves on the School Development and Improvement (SDIP) Committee, in addition to participation in other required teams and committees. And above all monitors student progress to support ongoing review of how well the school is progressing. The PLLAT attends external events, to identify areas of best practice and develop and share resources through all available communication processes and by attending team meetings. This information is used to plan and lead sessions on teaching, learning and assessment on Staff Development days, identified team training and specific topics and provide workshops for parents to develop a deep understanding of the UYA learning and teaching processes.

Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) is a support process for developing skilled teachers and administrators to positively influence student outcomes. PAR provides assistance to two categories of Baltimore County Public Schools teachers: new teachers and those who have been identified as ineffective or underperforming. Consulting Teachers are teachers in their field that have consistently demonstrated the ability to deliver high quality instruction. The primary function of a consulting teacher is to provide the consistent support necessary to develop skilled teachers that positively influence student outcomes.
