-Worked as a member of the BUworks Finance team to provide support to various business teams across the university with their use of the university’s SAP-based systems.-Conducted yearly testing of support pack upgrades to Boston University’s SAP-based financial and accounting systems working to resolve any functional issues.-Increased the efficiency of the property management team’s university-wide inventory process which encompasses thousands of assets by creating a functional design specification for an application that allows users to inventory an asset by scanning the barcode on the asset using a tablet or phone and streamlines the process for making changes to asset information.-Was responsible for conducting training sessions to teach new employees how to use SAP functions to create journal entries.-Saved the accounting team time by developing a functional design specification outlining which fields store the needed data for a program that automatically generates a journal entry for credit card rebates. Also conducted the testing to ensure the program was calculating values accurately.-Promoted information sharing across the organization by making updates to multiple instruction guides on the Boston University TechWeb website.-Answered IT help tickets from clients related to accounts receivable and general ledger-related processes.-Created enhancements to add both validations and substitutions to Boston University’s SAP system. -Promoted data uniformity by suggesting and successfully implementing a new best practice for storing the name of the principal investigator associated with each grant. Also identified inconsistencies and errors in asset-related data and helped the property management team to clean up this data.

-Populated revenue models and created journal entries to book charges, reserves, payments, and adjustments.-Identified millions of dollars of revenue that needed to be reclassified to different cost centers.-Identified the main drivers of fluctuations in net revenue and provided explanations for variances to budget.

-Assisted in the analysis of monthly financial statements by looking for the drivers behind monthly gains/losses in net operating income.-Prepared journal entries and reconciliations to ensure that information was posted to the general ledger correctly.-Mined through data to identify thousands of dollars’ worth of patient refund variances.-Assisted in creating the budgets for multiple departments in the hospital including creating spreadsheets comparing the budget to actual reports over the course of multiple years for the CEO of the Boston University Medical Group.-Helped the Administrative Director and Department Chair identify areas for improvement with regards to their revenue streams by creating a spreadsheet depicting the department’s revenue sources over the last five years.-Calculated the monthly amount needed to be reserved for bad debt based on historical data.-Trained both a fellow analyst and a senior analyst simultaneously on systems such as SAP, SharePoint, and Lawson.-Reviewed payroll and prepared billing invoices.

While working for the mail room I was responsible for signing in and checking out packages in a computer database. I also provided technological help with connecting the wireless printer to students’ computers. I obtained customer service experience by helping many students get their print jobs and mail.
