- Rapidly designed, prototyped, and deployed an application to track chain of custody for COVID test samples using Python with Flask-Admin and Mapbox.- Architected and built from scratch a multi-cloud Kubernetes distribution using Pulumi with Python to create a common infrastructure platform in both AWS and Azure utilizing industry-leading best practices. This project enables developers to rapidly create AWS accounts with all the necessary resources to host mission critical applications without requiring deep knowledge of each cloud provider.- Co-led the platform team’s initiative to migrate from AWS ECS to the new Kubernetes infrastructure by using ArgoCD for continuous deployment of Helm charts, and served as the internal expert for the team to help debug platform issues.- Co-designed Python build/test tooling to support use of AWS Serverless Application Framework (SAM) for IoT data ingestion lambda functions, which enabled rapid prototyping and development of new IoT vendor integrations, as well as standardized Infrastructure as Code best practices.- Served as SME for the integrations team during the migration of legacy Java IoT data ingestion lambdas to the new Python framework.- Created a data warehouse to store all raw inbound IoT data using AWS Glue and Kinesis Data Firehose to archive data into S3 in ORC columnar format, so it can be quickly queried via AWS Athena for debugging or ML training.- Helped improve platform and application visibility by implementing teamwide usage of Datadog’s APM, metrics, and logging services across the entire stack.- Mentored and pair programmed with 2-4 developers daily to help build performant and resilient software solutions.

- Led a team of three engineers and two interns for US Government project to use machine learning to observe change from an autonomous drone.- Re-architected project to replace ROS (Robot Operating System) dependencies with pure Python and optimize for rapid iteration by using Docker containers and microservices for all project components.- Co-designed microservice utilizing Parrot Drones' Olympe Python API for communicating with the drone and pushing messages to a local ZeroMQ IPC queue, or RabbitMQ queue in the cloud.- Built reusable Python pipeline framework for processing messages received from the drone, preparing the captured imagery, inferencing with Tensorflow, and storing observations and sensor readings in a PostGIS database on a ground station.- Designed GraphQL API for visualizing all observations from the ML model and change detection algorithms with a React or React Native application.- Compiled full Tensorflow for Linux in a chroot on Android to demonstrate portability of the framework on a mobile device.- Worked with the team to product status reports and milestones for the Government project patrons.
