I am motivated to continue gaining knowledge and professional practice in immunology and microbiology using fundamentals of biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, and cellular biology.I graduated with an undergraduate degree in May 2020 with a BS in Cellular/Molecular Biology and a minor in Chemistry. In doing so, I was also a LEAD chemistry tutor, a teaching assistant for introductory chemistry labs, a member of the Appalachian Chemical Society, and involved in community volunteering. I went on to pursue a MS graduate degree in Cellular/Molecular Biology with a concentration in immunology. I participated in multiple research projects within the biology department, worked as a laboratory instructor, and became president of our department's graduate student association. My research focused on the impact of malnutrition and Plasmodium infection on innate immune response in the gut which was primarily investigated using flow cytometry. Currently, I perform research on placental tissue products with a variety of molecular techniques.
