• Prepared planning commission memos, public comment summaries, and approach strategies for a major land use code update in Issaquah, WA. Simplified existing zoning framework by combining zones, uses, and regulations that affect urban form. Drafted streamlined code language and developed graphics for ease of use and predictability.• Developed goals, policies, and objectives for South Lynnwood Neighborhood Plan, which was adopted in December 2021. Synthesized existing conditions, community surveys, and neighborhood co-design committee feedback. Designed public engagement graphics and executive summary layout.• Established climate resilient policies and objectives as part of a comprehensive plan update for a small town in Lewis County, WA. Inventoried existing housing stock and made recommendations for new affordable housing opportunities based on population projections and buildable lands inventory.• Drafted flood-smart standards for a zoning district impacted by shoreline management requirements and 100-year floodplain.

• Managed the Richard H. Driehaus Form-Based Code Award.• Administered three-course curriculum on form-based codes.• Strengthened organization’s equitable development work by documenting best practices in housing policy and land use regulation, analyzed equitable development toolkits, and interviewed equity-driven developers.• Supported technical assistance projects through meeting assistance, community engagement, and report management: Revisions to off-street parking and loading policies for Honolulu, HI; Zoning code audit for Leesburg, VA; and Citywide zoning strategy for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.• Developed social media content, presentations, webinars, case studies, and articles about zoning and smart growth.• Examined real estate and employment data to evaluate the economic benefits of form-based codes.• Supported technical assistance site visits and report writing for South Bend, IN; Baltimore, MD; and Cusick, WA by identifying assets and challenges for using small-scale manufacturing as a strategy to create economic opportunity and boost the prospects of placemaking.

• Completed traffic and pedestrian counting for university traffic models.• Collaborated with UNH Cooperative Extension, town officials, and private consultants on various projects.• Collected and analyzed data for UNH Cooperative Extension’s “First Impressions” community assessment program in Somersworth and Dover, NH. Compiled final reports and presented key findings to city officials resulting in improvements in pedestrian safety, waste management, public art, and signage.• Ran weekly meetings.
