Dedicated Computer Science student with a passion for tackling complex challenges in the digital landscape. I'm Tyler Rabatin, currently pursuing a BS in Computer Science from James Madison University, with an anticipated graduation in December 2024. My journey in cybersecurity has been marked by hands-on experiences, certifications, and a commitment to continuous learning.As a recipient of the National Cyber Scholarship Foundation Scholar with Honors and the Alan Pauler Honor Scholarship, I've demonstrated academic excellence and a strong dedication to the field. My academic pursuits are complemented by practical experiences, including serving as the SIEM & DNS Server Admin during the MACCDC 2023/2024 Red vs. Blue cyber defense competition. In this role, I honed my skills in incident response, utilizing tools like Splunk and Graylog to manage logs and ensure the integrity of critical services under attack.I've also thrived in competitive environments, acting as a Cyber Consultant for the Deloitte Cyber Threat Competition 2024 and leading my team as Team Captain in the picoCTF 2022/2023 cyber defense competition. These experiences have not only sharpened my technical abilities but also enhanced my ability to communicate complex cybersecurity concepts effectively.Outside of competitions, I've engaged in projects ranging from Bug Bounty Hunting/Vulnerability Disclosure Programs to constructing RFID credential grabbers, demonstrating my proactive approach to security and willingness to explore emerging threats.In addition to my academic and professional endeavors, I am deeply involved in extracurricular activities, including serving as Acting President of the Robotics Club and Acting Webmaster for the Cyber Defense Club at James Madison University. These roles allow me to share my knowledge and passion for technology while fostering a collaborative learning environment.Proficient in a wide array of technologies including Linux, Python, Java, and Splunk, among others, I am committed to staying abreast of the latest developments in cybersecurity and contributing meaningfully to the industry. I am currently pursuing certifications such as the CompTIA Security+ 701 Certification to further bolster my skill set.I am eager to connect with like-minded professionals, mentors, and organizations to exchange ideas, collaborate on projects, and contribute to the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity.
