Worked on a variety of projects focused on the OIG’s seven elements of an effective compliance program, CMS’s guidances, and fraud, waste, and abuse laws such as the Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS). Specific projects included researching and writing a memo on how the DOJ uses predictive modeling, data analytics, and healthcare corporations’ public data against them in qui tam lawsuits, compiling a 50-state-survey comparing state laws and CMS guidances on out-of-state provider claims and billing Medicaid beneficiaries, and writing a brand-new policy on optimizing patient care coordination and discharge processes in post-acute care.

Worked at a full-service health law firm on the full spectrum of health law issues related to operations, compliance, litigation, and transactions. Drafted employment and real estate agreements and provisions. Areas of focus included Medicaid beneficiary eligibility appeals, FDCPA Regulation F and No Surprises Act billing compliance, 1915(c) HCBS waivers, commercial bankruptcy, anti-retaliation employment laws, and telehealth and facility licensures.

Civil judicial externship position in Denver's 2nd Judicial District Judge for David H. Goldberg. Researched and wrote civil court orders for cases including 35(c) conflicts of interest, real estate and construction breach of contract litigation, and COVID-19-induced breach of contract litigation.
