Preparing aspiring young professionals for the challenges and realities of laboring and leading in the wonderful world of nonprofits. My diverse experiences in the nonprofit sector led to an invitation to teach Nonprofit Management - RecM 336/MSB 333. This course is part of the Nonprofit Management Minor at BYU and involves dozens of students from majors all across campus. I have centered the course on a series of activities that provide students with real-world experience. The goal is to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of leadership and management.

Privileged to be a part of helping the largest business school in the state of Utah, the Woodbury School of Business to garner the necessary support to offer inclusive, engaged, and serious academic opportunities to more than 5,700 students. And we raised a bunch of money to build a new building for the school!

In 2013, I was presented a wonderful opportunity to help a growing international nonprofit continue to advance. As President and Executive Director, I have primary management responsibilities for a beautiful program that his been developed to bless and lift the leprosy affected people of southern India. On one side, I oversee the small US team of about 5 employees for the promotion and development of volunteer recruitment and various fundraising and revenue generating programs to sustain the mission. On the other side, I coordinate with the Indian leadership over the local staff of about 75 employees, who deliver medical, educational, and economic development support services to the leprosy affected individuals and communities of southern India. My work here has focused on several important areas including the following: - Development of consistent internal policies and accountability plans- Streamlining of budgeting practices and reporting procedures- Program delivery monitoring and the ability to ensure consistency with stated organizational values and mission- Development of effective partnerships across industries and around the world- Board development and management- Relationship management- Fulfillment of the role of Chief Development Officer, overseeing all fundraising and revenue generating programs- Volunteer recruitment and other public presentations on behalf of the organization- Overseeing hiring and other human resource matters- Staff development- Communications development and strategy- Organizational focus and strategy development

During my time with LDS Philanthropies BYU I held several titles and filled many roles. The last few years there, I was a Director of Major Gifts, managing a small team of development officers and serving as the main fundraiser and liaison to BYU Broadcasting, supporting the Managing Director there with various fundraising related services and activities. Prior to this role I was an Associate Director of Major Gifts, Associate Director of Principal Gifts, and Associate Director of Annual Giving. I was a key member of the team that raised over $38MM for a major capital project on campus and I worked to raise millions more for scholarships, other capital projects, mentored student learning, and other approved university priorities.
