Kamanggih, Indonesia

Raised capital for the rural village of Kamanggih, East Sumba, Indonesia to establish a community-run cattle farm which will fund education and scholarships for youth, direct income towards local infrastructure investment, and produce electricity with biogas. Worked with the Cooperative to design and implement a multiyear operational plan for the farm. In addition, the cooperative is partnering with local universities and government to establish the farm as regional center for animal husbandry and clean energy education.

Duke University

-Led a group of 30 active undergraduate students passionate about transforming the global energy industry towards a sustainable future. Created educational opportunities for both club members and non-members and to engage the club's interest in projects (energy data visualization, efficiency analysis, student energy publication) and research that make an impact on Duke's campus and beyond. -Co-Chair of the Spark Career Event at Energy Week 2017: Brought 12 organizations and companies to campus to discuss career opportunities in energy. -Raised $5,000 for 10 club members and myself to participate in a Grid Alternatives Solar Spring Break 3/14/16. Our group used that money to install solar panels for a low-income Native American community, reducing their energy costs and environmental footprint. Secured annual funding for similar trips: CA Spring 2017, Washington DC Fall 2017.

Co-authored "Blast Zone: Natural Gas and the Atlantic Coast Pipeline: Causes, Consequences and Civic Action", a comprehensive report on the economic, political, environmental justice, and climate impacts of hydraulic fracturing, the US natural gas industry, and the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline. Presented research to the public and allied organizations in interactive workshops. Supported and participated in mobilizations led by threatened communities and grassroots organizations fighting for climate justice.

Jakarta & Sumba Indonesia

Designed and conducted research on the impacts of rural electrification on community empowerment in Kamanggih Village, Sumba Island.Produced a community empowerment assessment report and provided personalized feedback for community stakeholders in Kamanggih and IBEKA administration in Jakarta, Indonesia. Currently working with community leaders on development of a community managed sustainable cattle farm to benefit local infrastructure & education.
