Director of a non-profit organization raising money for ALS research to benefit local labs in the UBC community, while educating and providing experience to a select team of students managing our Santa Ono Investment Fund. Djavad Mowafaghian Centre For Brain Health

Student researcher investigating Alzheimer's Disease and Frontotemporal Dementia. Role included differentiation of neurons from induced pluripotent stem cells, as well as histological anaylsis of cerebral organoids to determine phenotypes specific to neurodegenerative diseases.

Responsible for the finances of 420 clubs and constituencies on campus ($3 mil). Worked closely with individual treasurers to ensure proper training, generating and approving budgets, and attending to day-to-day inquiries.

Hayden Lab

Volunteer assisting in projects researching therapeutic treatment for Huntington's Disease. Began performing simple biochemical assays for large scale projects, eventually spearheading an independent molecular cloning project creating isogenic cell lines through stem cell and CRISPR genome editing techniques.

Hugh Boyd Secondary School

Led a fourteen-member team responsible for attending to all medical emergencies at the school, while maintaining student confidentiality. Emergencies included unconscious patients, dislocated shoulders, and diabetic seizures. Also volunteered first aid at sports tournaments and community events.

Patel Lab

Student tasked with the research of rare genetic diseases. Worked to identify mutations in patient samples through basic molecular biology (PCR, agarose gel electrophoresis etc.) and tissue culture techniques. First exposure to laboratory setting as a high school student; additionally learned research project development and data analysis skills.
