My involvement with Re:Wild, a student-run club at CSULB, has been pivotal in directing my focus towards campus sustainability initiatives. Through active participation, I contributed to formulating projects aimed at achieving our campus's ambitious goal of attaining 100% sustainability by 2030. Collaborating with similar efforts from other universities, provided valuable insights into fundraising strategies and innovative landscape methods for our club's endeavors. Notably, I successfully advocated for and facilitated the implementation of sustainable landscaping practices on campus, which prioritizes the reduction of hazardous pesticide usage and the promotion of native biodiversity. This involved establishing collaborative partnerships with local nurseries, foundations, groundskeepers, and campus environmental advisors, fostering valuable relationships essential for the success of our sustainability objectives.

My role as a service learning volunteer for Long Beach Residents Empowered (LiBRE) provided me with critical experience in cultivating meaningful relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government officials, community organizations, and residents. LiBRE's mission to support marginalized communities in addressing critical issues such as housing rights, environmental justice, and equitable development resonated deeply with me. Engaging in community outreach initiatives, I developed a strong commitment to fostering coalitions and advocating for policy reform to effect positive change.
