Over my time at Barnacle Billys, I have worked various roles such as, bussing tables, and moving on up to the kitchen where I would prepare lobsters, and steamed clams. After some time, I moved on to being a server.When I was preparing the lobsters, I stand in an open kitchen, and talk to customers when they first walk in. I like to approach the customers with high energy unlike any restaurant, and make sure to get a good laugh out of them. The location of the restaurant brings in a high number of tourists, so making sure they have a positive and warm experience to remember is key in my eyes.

I've been apart of The Jewel of Christmas Tree Farm since I was 9 years old. My grandfather founded the farm in 1987, and the first tree sold was in 1997. I would help in the spring, and summer time each year to plant and fertilize new saplings. When November rolled around, I would be up and ready to work the day after thanksgiving at 8am waiting for the first customers to arrive. I would go out into the fields with families for hours, and answer any questions they had about the trees. Our trees were all naturally shaped, meaning we did not sheer the trees into a perfect shape. We had many different varieties of trees including, Fraser furs, blue spruces, maya spruces, balsam furs, and con-color furs. My personal mission every time was to make sure the families had a fun and safe time, and went home with the best tree for their holiday season.Whenever I had free time, I would adventure into the marsh/swamp area and pull out any dead trees I thought that would make good fire wood. I'd put the trees on a rock wall, grab a chain saw, and cut them into pieces to chop with an axe. I continued to do this and ended up selling the wood I chopped to customers.

I was a helpful hand for the Bunny Clark fishing boat. I winterized the boat when it was pulled out of the water for the season. This included a deep cleaning of the boat, and early morning/late night time help when needed.

I worked as a dock boy, and handyman for the Finestkind. I would arrive at 6am to scrub the deck, clean the windows, prepare the bar with ice, and restock liquor. This job would take up to 3 hours and when I was finished, I'd run home to change my dirty clothes, and go to my next shift next door at Barnacle Billys from 10am to 10pm on late nights.When October came around, the boat cruises would end. I would keep working for the Finestkind at the barn, and chopped approximately twelve cords of wood until January.
