I’m a Buyer for Catalent Pharma Solutions in Morrisville, NC. As a Buyer for the site I handle and oversee the purchasing of analytical material to our R&D, Early Development, Stability, Micro, and Biologic Lab groups. These purchases include chemical, reagents products, material from life science vendors and instrument suppliers that are needed to perform the daily activities of Scientist and lab Analyst. I also oversee placing orders for all of the support groups within the site and any other services that might be in need of indirect support. My daily work includes verifying that our PO’s reflect the proper pricing based on our current contractual pricing. I work with suppliers on any price discrepancies and identify cost saving. I work with our suppliers on forecasting so the labs can meet their deadlines. Working in Supply Chain has allowed me opportunities to offer recommendation to management on process improvements and identify area’s where Blanket PO's can be implemented to minimize downtime for support groups and avoid supply issues. I review and key metrics as necessary to monitor performance of the purchasing department and suppliers in accordance with departmental and company objectives (i.e. supplier quality, supplier on-time delivery, PPV variance to Standard, purchase request to purchase order, supplier invoice receipt to payment cycle, discrepant invoice DSO, target cost reduction objectives, etc.) Establishing and maintaining quantity and quality standards by developing and ensuring compliance through regularly reviews, observation audits and reports. I work to continually improve processes and performance of work cross functionally. I assist with setting up all onboarding, paperwork, and payment of new vendors. Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives that maximize overall service.
