Co-discovered a mechanism by which a subset of hippocampal interneurons undergo spontaneous action potential firing initiated in the distal axon. Designed, performed, analyzed and interpreted results of the involved studies. Coauthored paper published in Nature Neuroscience. Generated a BAC (bacterial artificial chromosome) to develop a transgenic mouse strain with specific gene expression.
