After winning the projects, I led the development and design of the ride vehicle, where I worked closely with creative teams and manufacturers to design components and structures that were manufacturable and fit the creative intent. In this role, I took several trips to China to supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of two other multi-million dollar attractions. During my final trip I successfully trained the Chinese-speaking operations team how to safely operate the complex attraction we built.I transitioned into a New Product Development role, where I led the development and successful release of CAVU’s Quest attraction: the industry’s first walkthrough ride. In this role I also pitched and advertised CAVU’s products to potential clients face-to-face on trade show floors and in sales meetings. During my fall semester there, I worked on a multitude of international and domestic projects. Interactive Design Group (IDG) is a private architecture firm in Roanoke, Virginia that services regional projects, big and small. As an intern, I worked very closely with practicing architects in order to accomplish sections of large projects. The architects would give me red-line drawings that outlined the changes in the floor plan of buildings that needed to take place. I also attended important project meetings between engineers, architects, electricians, and other professionals for a $7 million construction project that was in progress.
