I manage a security program above Top Secret to include brief preparation and delivery to personnel across the spectrum of rank and experience. Additionally, I work with contractors, government, and military personnel to develop upgrades to the submarine heavy weight torpedo program as well as development and delivery of training to the fleet as upgrades are fielded.

Carrier Strike Group Twelve, Norfolk, Virginia Area

Advised the commander on all issues submarine and integrated operations related. I also acted as a key member of the operational planning staff.I was selected to provide training and insight to members of the United Kingdom Carrier Strike Group, acting as the sole American assigned to assist in executive level communications and brief development and delivery.

- Developed and updated curriculum for training for submarine sailor training paths- Maintained nearly 400 courses up to date with current tactics and doctrine for the entire submarine force- Acted as the senior representative for SLC at inspections of multiple submarine schoolhouses, providing insight and guidance to both the schoolhouse leadership and the inspection team on interpretation of guidance and expectations for training- Coordinated with multiple outside agencies in support of inspections, tours, interviews and other research as part of the Ohio Replacement Program (ORP)

- Wrote and updated submarine force guidance on sonar employment and tactics as well as developing, and disseminating submarine operational guidance and testing parameters for multi-platform tests and exercises.- Supervised three highly trained operators in working with submarine force leaders to ensure emergent tactics and operations were in accordance with fleet commander’s guidance.- Acted as sole squadron representative onboard for multiple exercises in areas such as the mid-Atlantic, Atlantic Undersea Test and Evaluation Center (AUTEC) and other operations. During these operations my knowledge of systems operations and submarine employment were frequently sought out to assist in making in situ decisions regarding testing and training. My ability to understand test objectives and communicate those to the submarine decision makers (commanding officer etc) was key to the success of many events.- Directly tasked to research and resolve complex questions regarding multiple level-one submarine accidents. My team’s rapid turnaround allowed force commanders to ensure all other submarines, and surface units were quickly trained on lessons learned from each event, ensuring no repeats of past mistakes.

- The single point responsible for maintaining accountable records and supervising the maintenance of 24 Submarine Launched Ballistic Missiles (SLBM) as well as ensuring the reliability of over 40 personnel directly responsible for safeguarding the nuclear weapons assets assigned to WYOMING as one of the nation’s 14 strategic missile submarines. - As Ship’s Duty Officer and Strategic Weapons Duty Officer in port I planned daily execution of the ship’s refit schedule for four intensive refits, including two dry docked periods, each composed of over a million man-hours of work.- During over two dozen nuclear weapons handling evolutions I supervised approximately 50 personnel and oversaw planning of daily and weekly work, manning and setting of security details, shift balancing and missile and warhead technical operations, while simultaneously maintaining required records of every aspect of each event.- As the resident expert in strategic planning, targeting and execution of the nuclear war plan, I was responsible to communicate the needs and requirements of a team of 20 missile technicians with the Commanding Officer and advise him on all aspects of processing directives, troubleshooting system faults, and planning ship placement and operational schedule, as well as providing interpretation and guidance on the execution of the strategic war plan as directed by United States Strategic Command and the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Armed Forces of the United States.- Developed and oversaw execution of the ship’s nuclear weapons monitoring program. This program developed timelines and metrics for the assigned leaders (up to and including the Commanding Officer) to use during internal audits and inspections of technical operations, records and interviews of personnel to ensure compliance with Navy and DoD regulations.

- Responsible for interpreting and executing nearly a dozen different sets of regulations with regard to military applicant medical, legal and personal history. Supervised a team of over a dozen people, consisting of medical personnel, military standards verification workers, test administrators and travel coordinators, both military and civilian in the day to day operations of the Boise Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS), ensuring the rapid screening of applicants for all branches of the armed forces and other government agencies.- Directly responsible for the personnel and operations of the testing section (6 people) which administered the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) to as many as 400 or more applicants per week.- Coordinated directly with the Idaho State Superintendent of Education to receive his endorsement for the ASVAB program, and to encourage all high schools in the state to administer the test in support of career exploration and military recruiting. Following that meeting I met with over a dozen school principals and administrators to discuss the ASVAB program and what it could offer their schools. Over 5,000 students took the ASVAB in Idaho high schools in the year following that action, the most in 5 years.- Frequently sought out for my communications abilities to work with senior recruiting area commanders to clarify applicant issues and educate leaders on recruiter shortfalls.
