As a Lab Assistant, I work towards completing the tasks assigned to me by our Lab Manager John Wooldridge. Much of these tasks include prepping lab sections of natural science courses, maintaining, organizing, and cleaning lab materials, and assisting faculty within the natural science department with anything they made need done to enhance their mode of teaching.

During the summer of 2019 as well as 2020, I assisted Dr. Melissa Southwell in research conducted in partnership with Dr. Christine Angelini at the University of Florida exploring the impacts living shorelines have on their respective areas of implementation. While assisting with this research I have collected sediment samples in a field setting as well as analyzed over 100 samples for organic matter percentage through a loss on ignition method.

I was one of few students working in Oregon State University's Earth, Ocean, and Atmospheric Sciences summer REU program funded by the national science foundation. Through the mentorship of Dr. Mary Santelmann, I explored the impacts of human impact and disturbance on vegetation composition and species diversity within coastal estuaries using qualitative methods.

I worked at Flagler College's Learning Resource Center where I assisted students enrolled in Natural Science courses on conceptualizing concepts presented to them in lectures and worked to better prepare them for examinations and activities within the classroom.
