Roughly two years after leaving QBE, I was recruited back by former managers for this Lead IT Consultant position. In this role, I primarily provide management, oversight, governance and support to our managed service vendor partners in the North American Property & Casualty, Billing, Claims, Operations, Shared Services and Reinsurance portfolios. This role includes many responsibilities, some examples being resource management, security administration, process improvement and design, deliverable reviews and approval, strategic planning and serving as a point of escalation. Relationship management between internal QBE infrastructure and other departments is also a key function I support I am also heavily involved in contract negotiations and renewals for both the QA tool-sets and our vendor statements of work.

In my time at American Family, I worked strictly on the Usage Based Insurance (UBI) product being rolled out to new and existing auto customers. I collaborated with with Personal Lines, Product and Pricing, Sales and Services, Operations, Innovations, Actuarial and IT. This position also included working closely with an external vendor and external systems, both stand-alone and integrated to internal systems, to ensure superb internal support and customer experiences in the program. My role on the project began with performing user acceptance testing, but due to my unrivaled in-depth understanding of all project and product aspects, I soon took on many roles. These duties included sprint planning and coordination, resource estimation, defect management, requirements/business rules analysis and creation, production and customer support, vendor relationship management, inventory forecasting, telematics data analysis and training. I also researched and provided key input in the exploration of future and additional UBI products for the company.

At QBE I worked on a state of the art personal lines policy issuance system and the billing platform while also leading several infrastructure projects. In 2012 - 2013 I was a lead QA on a Modernization project being rolled out to the entire company (4000+ users). This involved each user upgrading to Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010 and the latest version of Citrix. Along with those upgrades, each department consolidated security and drives to help simplify their structure. As part of the project I took on many duties, primarily including Quality Assurance, UAT coordination, security administration, BA requirements gathering and desk-side support.

This position involved being lead QA on a critical Enterprise PDM enhancement project and also a future SolidWorks action recording feature, along with several other enhancement projects. Concurrently with these projects, I also worked extensively with field services devising a new customer heath tracking formula to better assist users.I then moved on to the New Product Concepts group and was a lead QA for the new generation of SolidWorks in the pre-alpha state of development, with a main focus of UI development along with much of the feature set.

Utilizing the SolidWorks and design skills learned in the EMA Senior Design course, this position involved testing, designing improvements and helping implement future versions of SolidWorks. I also worked closely with field services and tech support to improve customer satisfaction and accelerate bug resolution.
