  • Shareability
Creative Director | Head Of Ideation
    Shareability Sep 2016 - Apr 2019
In a sea of content begging people to care, shareable video is the antidote to indifference. As Head of Ideation at Shareability my team and I have the blessing and the curse of sitting where it all begins. We go from blank page to blockbuster idea in a few short weeks. The winning concept must answer the client’s brief, be feasible for production and be guaranteed to light the internet on fire. Our past 23 branded content campaigns have generated over 500 million views, 10 million shares and 20 million engagements across the web. So far, I’ve learned that a bad idea often leads to a great one, human emotion is the key to shareable content and to always stay humble because a cat with pirate hat can still outperform a perfectly crafted campaign.
  • Maker Studios Inc
    Network Operations
Maker Studios Inc Mar 2016 - Aug 2016
Change can be scary, but sometimes it is for the best. After being with Maker for 3 years, through an acquisition and a shift in regime, I stepped back from the creative side of things to put my business hat on. I took over the company's day to day relationship with YouTube, created clear paths for departments to use each other as resources, and took a hard look at what we actually offered our creators. I learned that a band-aid fix is never the right solution, that maturing a business requires some really tough decisions and that being laid off is nothing to be ashamed of.
  • Maker Studios Inc
    Manager, Marketing & Optimization
Maker Studios Inc Jun 2013 - Mar 2016
There is nothing more validating than being bought by Disney, but there is a lot Walt could have learned from YouTubers. I joined Maker (a year prior to the Disney acquisition) because I believe every creator has an audience and you might be surprised at just how big that audience is. I studied the content of YouTubers big and small mining their videos for patterns and trends that provided insight into their success. These insights were packaged and distributed for use across the network, on our owned and operated channels and eventually throughout The Walt Disney Company. I learned how to create content for a digital first generation, how to manage a team through tremendous uncertainty and change, and that saying "I don't get it" isn't an excuse to ignore the revolution in entertainment.
  • Google
    Google+ Marketing, Arts & Entertainment
    Google Mar 2012 - Apr 2013
    Greater Los Angeles Area
Everyone uses Google, but not everyone uses Google+. Supporting the launch of Google+ forced me to tap into every skill I thought I had and develop even more I didn't know existed. While at Google, I produced numerous live broadcasts for brands and celebrities, created a filmmaking series live from Sundance and connected a community of filmmakers across the globe culminating in an interactive online film festival including over 25 short films. I learned how to build a passionate community online, how to produce live broadcasts on a tight budget, and that celebrity doesn't always equal viewership.
  • Apple
    Specialist/ Mentor
    Apple Jun 2010 - Aug 2011
Technology can be scary, but it doesn't have to be. With a little training and a shift of perspective, technology can enable us to work smarter, create faster and reach a broader audience than we ever thought possible. At Apple I was able to lead hundreds of people through this philosophy every day. I learned how to teach adults without making them feel stupid, how to identify a client's needs when they aren't even sure themselves and how to lead a team in a fast-pace high-pressure environment.
  • Long Pier Creative
    Co-Founder, Storyteller
Long Pier Creative Mar 2010 - Mar 2011
Everyone has a story, but not everyone knows how to tell it. An opportunity to travel to Cuba and create several short-form documentary films inspired the launch of a small production company aimed at helping non-profits become better storytellers. Along the way our services expanded from filmmaking to digital strategy, social media consulting and even grant writing. I learned how to apply my creativity to another person's passion, how to develop and maintain relationships with multiple clients and how incredibly hard it is to run your own business.
  • New School Media
    Assistant / Reader
New School Media Jun 2009 - Sep 2010
Every film starts with a screenplay, but every screenplay starts with an idea. After learning the basics of Screenwriting at USC, I stepped into the real world to find out what it actually takes to turn a screenplay into a film. While answering thousands of phone calls and covering hundreds of scripts I had a front row seat through the development and green lighting of a $28 million film (30 Minutes or Less). I learned the importance of humility in the workplace, that it takes a village to get anything done in Hollywood and that paying your dues is the only way to prepare you for a career.
