As a Veteran Benefits Coordinator at Roll-A-Ramp, a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business that provides wheelchair ramps and other medical equipment to vets, I was dedicated to helping disabled vets get the benefits they deserved for over 10 years. I worked with the local VA to secure HISA grants and other funding sources, and I was the primary liaison to the veteran community, traveling to Stand Downs and other networking events.Before joining Roll-A-Ramp, I was a Claims Representative at the VA Regional Office in Fargo for five years, where I successfully applied for and received numerous grants to assist area vets in their claims. I also served in the United States Marine Corps Infantry as a Rifleman and Team Leader for four and a half years, participating in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. I learned the importance of operational planning, command, and communication, as well as being humble and curious. I always asked questions when I was unsure and sought guidance from those who had more experience or expertise.
