I founded Diamond E Testing as a "dual threat" to mix my experience from QC Testing in heavy civil road construction with my special inspections skilled gained at PSI. Having reflected on my experiences working for both a large international company and a smaller firm I realized one thing. Bigger is not always better. Infact, contrary to what it would seem, the larger the company, the larger the problems. I felt too disconnected and to be frank, unable to serve my clients. That is the exact reason I am here today with the resources needed to complete any project. I am here able to better serve you, the client. Being a 6th generation Oregonian, I was excited to move back to the state and spend more time in the office learning to manage and do business development. During my time here I managed their Portland, OR ISO 17025 accredited construction materials laboratory. I managed all ODOT and local municipality projects. I gained experience with accrediting agencies including AASHTO, WABO, OBOA, A2LA, ODOT, FAA, and Army Corps of Engineers. I lead testing of all proficiency samples for AMRL/ CCRL along with calibration and other documentation needed to maintain lab accreditations. Here I was able to also grow my knowledge of special inspections. Notable projects● Crestline Construction, Hood River Aiport rehab, QC project administrator overseeing all testing and inspection to fulfill FAA specifications● City of Battle Ground Public Works, 5th way and South Parkway, Oversight of complete road reconstruction and pavement● Port of Portland, Airport Way, Oversight of NE Airport Way repavement project● Astoria Airport, Port of Astoria, QC project administrator overseeing all testing and inspection on 4 million dollar runway repair● Scarcella Brothers, ODOT US 20 Pioneer Mountain to Eddyville- Provided project management and oversight of all testing related to phase 3. What started as an internship quickly evolved into a lifelong carrier. I began like most other entry-level testing technicians. Breaking cylinders, running proctors, and gaining experience out in the field. Thanks to the industries high turn over rate, I found myself having to stretch my abilities and learn quickly. I grew to oversee the testing and inspecting on large heavy civil/ highway construction projects. I became one of the lead field supervisors overseeing both the project and technicians working on the project. QC Testing is a full-service AASHTO accredited laboratory specialized in asphalt mix designs, production testing, and large remote projects. Notable projects worked on at QC Testing● Layton Construction Co. Inc., Vernal City Conference Center; Vernal, Utah – Provided concrete special inspection along with concrete and soils laboratory testing.● Burdick Materials, US Highway 40; Roosevelt, Utah- UDOT, Provided asphalt laboratory testing for the repaving and widening of the highway.● Simon Contractors Company, Interstate 80; Rawlins, Wyoming - WDOT, provided laboratory asphalt testing for the repaving of 20 miles of interstate.● Civco Engineering, Seep Ridge Road; Book Cliffs, Utah – Uintah County Special Projects District, Provided asphalt and soils laboratory testing for the 4-year construction of Seep Ridge Road, Scenic Route 88 connecting US highway 40 with Interstate 70. $ 86.5 million dollar road construction project employing over 825 people. ● Dalbo Holdings INC, Disposal Ponds, WW Clyde Construction; Rangely, Colorado - Provided laboratory soils testing for the construction of three 7 acre disposal ponds complete with an embankment dam requiring Army Corps of Engineers Specifications.
